13 October 2010
Siam Safety Premier Co Ltd, the manufacturer of world-renowned "Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball", has signeda deal with the Middle East conglomerate giant "Ster Group" to distribute its products in 16 c
ountries worldwide. By The Nation Published on June 30, 2010
International sales of the product are expected to reach Bt1 billion within a year. Phanawatnan Kaimart, CEO of Siam Safety Premier, said that the product has been widely accepted and highly commended by the international market. It has won 13 goldmedals, honors, and certificates from award ceremonies for inventions and inventors worldwide. The Elide Fire Ball was patented in 103 countries and its trademark was registered in 21 different countries. It has also earned product safety certifications from more than 50 National Fire Protection Associations around the world.
"Ninety five per cent of the company's developed and manufactured products are exported. Most of the domestic sales go to local Public Disaster Prevention and Relief Centers across the country. The company currently enjoys an annual turnover of Bt80 million. This year's revenue, however, is projected to be Bt1.2 billion. The new distribution contract with Ster Group is expected to bring in around Bt1 billion from the sales of at least 1 million units of Elide Fire Ball in the 16 countries."
Hallow Talabani, CEO of the Middle East conglomerate Ster Group, commented that the ball is already well known and highly praised by the international market, especially among the dozens of countries in the Middle East, Europe, and the Former Soviet Union that Ster Group has businesses in.
"This signing of the 16 countries distribution deal is only the first of many more to come. We believe that the companies will be inking more contracts soon after Ster Group has expanded its business into even more countries. Ster Group plans to purchase 1 million units of Elide Fire Ball and build a brand new 20,000 square meters facility in Dubai, particularly for the safe keeping of the products before distributing to other destinations."
Talabani also noted that the Iraqi Kurdistan government has asked Ster Group to represent them in discussing with the Thai government about many trade issues, such as the possibility of sending 250,000 Thai labours to work in the Kurdistan region. These Thai labours will earn about US$500-$600 a month with fringe benefits such as free plane tickets, meals, accommodations, phone cards, etc. The Kurdistan government also wants to purchase 360,000 tonnes of rice annually to allot to its citizens.
"Moreover, we would like to suggest that the Thai government opens a Thai trade consulate in the city of Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. Now that so many developed countries such as English, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Slovakia, and the US have already opened their own trade consulates in the region for quite some time, we naturally wouldn't want for Thailand to waste away the opportunity."
Sorawut Nuengjamnong, the Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Commerce and Intellectual Property, as a key coordinator of this agreement, concluded that it is a great opportunity for both parties that Ster Group expresses interest in purchasing and distributing Thailand's agricultural products to over 20 countries where they already have businesses in, apart from the Elide Fire Ball. Tomorrow the company's representatives will meet with some of Thailand's leading business executives to further discuss the matters.
Deputy Minister of Commerce Alongkorn Polabut stated that this signing of a contract between the Middle East conglomerate Ster Group and Thailand's firefighting technology leader Siam Safety Premier Co., Ltd., themanufacturer of the world's first self activating fire extinguisher Elide Fire Ball, is another great example of the country's technological product development being recognised internationally. The particular product has won patents and awards from various countries and generated interests from potential partners that lead to distribution to more than 50 countries around the world.
